Submission Guidelines

The Editorial Board of Performing Culture Journal invites collaboration with researchers, emerging authors, and practitioners in the fields of theatre, culture, and the creative industries.

Languages

  • English

  • Russian

Types of Submissions Accepted

  • Research articles

  • Essays and creative reflection

  • Case studies (projects, productions)

  • Interviews with practitioners or scholars

  • Performance reviews

Length

  • 2,500–10,000 words

  • Abstract: 150 - 300 words

  • Keywords: 5-10 words

Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word

  • Font: Times New Roman / 14 pt / 1.5 spacing

  • Section headings allowed

  • Images / tables: embed in the text + attach separately if possible

Citation Style

Chicago Author-Date (simplified)

Example in text: [Smith 2021: 45]

At the end: full reference list (alphabetical order)

Originality & Ethics

  • All submissions must be original and unpublished

  • Plagiarism is not permitted

  • Authors retain full copyright

  • Republishing allowed with acknowledgment of first publication in Performing Culture Journal

Peer Review

  • Editorial review - formal review by Editorial Board

  • Authors may receive requests for minor revisions


Publication Fee

Performing Culture Journal is an open-access journal. To support editorial processing and online publication, an Article Processing Fee of 50 USD is required.

We are committed to supporting emerging and independent authors. Fee waivers or reductions are available upon request, based on a brief justification or recommendation.

Printed copies are available for an additional cost (Print-on-Demand).

All fee decisions are made at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
